2 more COVID-19 patients including another doctor dies in Assam
July 15: Another two persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Assam on Wednesday. With this, the death toll has gone upto 48. Out of the two, one is a doctor. He has been identified as Dr Pradip Kumar Sharma (75) from Tinsukia. As per sources, he was a senior private medical practitioner in Tinsukia. Dr. Sharma died at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh. Prior to him, Dr Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology department at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital also died due to coronavirus. The second person who lost her life being infected by COVID-19 is 45-year-old Hiradevi from Kamrup Metro.
Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet wrote, “Very sad to share that Smt Hira Devi (45) from Kamrup Metro & Dr Pradip Kumar Sharma (75) from Tinsukia succumbed to #COVID19 today, as per the report of Death Audit Board of Assam.”
