Domestic airlines to resume operations in calibrated way from 25 May
May 20: “Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020. All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May. SOPs for passenger movement are also being separately issued by Ministry of Civil Avaiation.” This information was tweeted by Civil Aviation Minister, hardeep Singh Puri on 20 May.
With the easing of Lockdown restrictions in its 4th phase, many were expecting the resuming of airline services. However, no call was taken on international operation of flights. Earlier, the minister said that the central government alone cannot take the decision of resuming airline services. The states will also have to give their consent in this matter.

Anyhow, this news would be respite to many who are stuck in many parts of India due to nationwide lockdown since the last week of March. There will now be a huge rush of home coming for those who got stranded in other states.
