District administration starts door to door survey to find out unvaccinated persons in Cachar

"If a single person is left out, he will be a threat to not only his family, but also to the whole society," siad DC Jalli

Oct. 5: With a view to speed up the COVID Vaccination programme, Cachar District Administration has started door to door survey to trace out the unvaccinated persons. The BLOs and the ASHAs will move to each household to not only collect information but also to facilitate the unvaccinated persons to receive the dose.

To review the status of the vaccination in the district, a meeting was held at the Conference Hall of DRDA here on Monday. Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar presided over the meeting in presence of C.E.O Cachar Zilla Parishad Elded Fairem and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Kamal Baruah. While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli said, “There may be some persons who could not turn up to the Vaccination Centres due to some reasons. We have to sort out their issues and arrange vaccination as per their convenience”. Seeking support of the public, Jalli said, “If a single person is left out, he will be a threat to not only his family, but also to the whole society”.

Dr. Ashutosh Barman, Joint Director of Health Services, who is a gynaecologist said his address, “After many rounds of research, it has been found safe in pregnant women and lactating mothers as well. Hence, all the pregnant women and lactating mothers should come forward to get their doses.”

It is worth mentioning that 9,61,796 beneficiaries have received their first dose and 3,34,013 got second dose so far. Functionaries of Health Department and officials from Election Department were also present in the meeting.
