Dipak Shome, retired HoD of English, Nehru College passes away

Nov. 22: In an unfortunate incident, Dipak Shome, retired Head of the Department of English of Nehru College Pailapool breathed his last on Monday morning. He was 61. He suffered a major stroke in Monday morning at his residence at Itkhola in Silchar. As per sources, he suddenly felt uneasy in the morning and was profusely sweating. He was immediately rushed to Mediland Nursing Home where after a few hours he passed away. He will be cremated on Tuesday.

Prof. Shome retired from Nehru College, Pailapool on December 2020. A teacher par excellence, Dipak Shome is survived by his wife and a host of kith and kin.
