Dilip Paul to file his nomination as independent candidate on Friday
March 11: Being robbed off his claim of representing Silchar Assembly Constituency for the 3rd consecutive term from BJP, Dilip Kumar Paul vented out his protest claiming that the way in which he was deprived off and neglected by the party was definitely not acceptable. Saying so, he unequivocally stated in a press meet on Wednesday that he would contest the ensuing Assembly Elections 2021 from the prestigious Silchar seat as an independent candidate. In this connection, taking to his Facebook wall, Dilip Kumar Paul stated that he would submit his nomination papers on Friday as an independent candidate.
Further, he also stated that he has tendered his resignation from the primary membership of BJP. In the social media post, Dilip Kumar Paul urged upon the masses to assemble in large numbers near Silchar DSA by 12.30 PM on 12 March for proceeding towards the Office of the Deputy Commissioner.
In a tone of regret and remorse, the former MLA Dilip Kumar Paul lashed out that he had to pay the price for being honest in his 37 years long political career. He said that this was his coveted price for raising his voice against syndicate led by eminent leaders of the party.
