DGP Assam visits Hailakandi, directs police dept to curb syndicate crimes with a strong hand
Feb. 11: Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta paid an official visit to Hailakandi district. He was accompanied by IGP CID Debraj Upadhyay, IPS ,DIG SR Kangkan Jyoti Saikia, IPS and CO 21st APBN Rajveer Singh, IPS. They met all the platoon commanders manning the Border Outposts along Hailakandi- Mizoram Border, heard their problems and encouraged and motivated them to continue serving their state with pride and valour.
DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta also addressed all the officer in-charge and Investigating Officers of Hailakandi DEF and supervised and issued instructions regarding crime prevention and detection, especially organised and syndicated crimes like smuggling of Myanmar origin betelnut, fertiliser and coal. The DGP minced no words in communicating to the cutting edge Assam Police’s resolve to eradicate these evils from Assam.
