DC Jalli takes stock of swab collection procedure at Silchar Airport

July 30: As the number of coronavirus cases are increasing in the district, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli is exploring all possibilities to contain the further spread of the virus. On Wednesday, DC Jalli visited Silchar Airport to check the ongoing process of swab collection of incoming passengers and other procedures followed over there. She interacted with the teams deployed and oversaw the arrangements. ADC Health and other officials of the district were also present along with her at the airport.

Earlier, she also held a meeting with all 8 medical blocks represented by SDMHO and BPM, ABPM to streamline contact tracing and swab collection in a more smooth and effective manner. Problems related to these were discussed at details and solutions were proposed.

In view of the rising trend of COVID-19 cases, DC Jalli visited a Model Hospital proposed to be converted as Covid Care Centre. She went around the hospital and took stock of the facilities available therein. It needs mention here that Palonghat Model Hospital and Cibitabichiya Model Hospital were already converted as Covid Care Centres.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, a total of 124 new coronavirus cases reported from Cachar district. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Cachar has gone upto 1635.
