DC Jalli felicitates rank holders in HS examination
June 26: Three meritorious students from two junior colleges of Cachar district secured rank in the Higher Secondary examination conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), Guwahati. The results of the said exam was declared on 25 June. On Friday, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli felicitated the three rank holders in her conference room. They are Binita Saha(3rd rank), Aditya Dutta (9th rank) from Ramanuj Gupta Junior College and Sumita Roy (8th rank) from Vibekananda Junior College. All of them are from Commerce stream.
DC Jalli also expressed her heartfelt wishes to Krishna Roy who scored 72.8% from Government Girls HS & MP School, Silchar overcoming manifold hurdles at her home. Speaking during the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said, “Indeed it is a proud moment for us to felicitate such meritorious students. They have indeed earned laurels for themselves, their institution, parents and ofcourse to the district. I convey my best wishes to all of them. I also congratulate the Education Department for conducting the examination in a seamless manner. Keerthi Jalli added that the entire town rejoices in their success and their achievement will inspire others to do well.”
Adopting a humane approach, the Deputy Commissioner said that those who could not perform as per their expectations should not leave hope as sweet and sour are all part of our life. She urged upon such students to have faith and confidence and prepare themselves for the future strides. She said, “Success comes to those who have self-confidence.” She also spoke about women empowerment while mentioning that two out of the three rank holders in Cachar are girls. She said, “Girls across streams are performing well.” Highlighting the success of Binita, Sumita and Krishna, she said, “They will become role models for the other students.”
At the outset, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education), Rajiv Roy delivered the welcome address. Inspector of Schools Semina Yasmin Aaara Rahman also expressed her views and congratulated the students for their performance in Higher Secondary examinations. District elementary Education Officer Sumitra Deb also attended the felicitation programme.
