DC Hailakandi launches 7 ‘My Shop on Wheels’

September 13: In order to promote livelihood and self entrepreneurship, 7 number of ‘Amar Dukan on Wheels’ (My Shop on Wheels) were distributed on Friday by  Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi. ‘Amar Dukan on Wheels’ is a eco-friendly doorstep delivery initiative of the Department of Food and Civil Supply, Government of Assam for delivery of PDS and sale of non-essential goods.

The seven goods carrying E-Rickshaws were distributed among 7 beneficiaries of the town. Speaking during the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi, J. Keerthi said, “We request all to endorse these entrepreneurs and buy the products they will be selling.”

The specially designed E-Rickshaws named ‘Amar Dukan on Wheels’ were distributed in presence of ADC (F&CS) Eldad Fahrenheim and ADS Ganesh Choudhury. This initiative was made successful with support from Bank of India.

The basic objective of the Scheme Aamar Dukan on Wheels is to control price of essential commodities by avoiding the middle man. Through this scheme the consumers will get their daily requirements of essential commodities at their door step at a reasonable price and shall also contribute in removal of unemployment problem.
