DC Cachar conducts site inspection to resolve issue of demarcation of land
Sept.11: Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Keerthi Jalli conducted joint site inspection to resolve the issues of demarcation of land for the work “improvement of road from Silchar town to Assam University up to Irongmara Bazar of Silchar-Hailakandi Road stretching around 18.50 km on Friday. Circle Officer, Sadar revenue circle, Silchar, Nabaneeta Hazarika, Nameswar Pegu, Superintending Engineer, PWRD, Cachar Roads Circle cum I/c Executive Engineer, PWRD, Silchar and Udharband Territorial Road Division, Silchar, Assistant Executive Engineer, PWRD, Silchar Territorial Road Division, Abdun Noor and contractor, Binod Singhi of Gautam Construction accompanied her during the inspection of the sites.
The contractor informed that the progress of work slowed down for want of demarcation of land for construction of side drain. Deputy Commissioner instructed the Circle Officer, Silchar to complete the demarcation work immediately in consultation with PWD staff. Circle Officer, Silchar Sadar Revenue Circle, Hazarika informed that demarcation of land from Kathal Point towards Ranghirkhari Point will be completed within two days. The contractor then agreed to complete the drainage work within one month after the completion of land demarcation.
Further, the encroachment problem near Bharakhai High School was also discussed and the Deputy Commissioner visited the site and directed legal recourse in this regard immediately so that road construction can be taken up early.
