DC along with officials reviews progress of works on Bhalachera- Harangajao 4-lane road

Oct. 10: Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Keerthi Jalli on Sunday visited Bhalachera area nearby N C Hills to review the status of the Bhalachera- Harangajao 4-lane road at NH 54(E). During her visit, she was accompanied by DFO, Cachar, Tajesh Mariswami, General Manager (P) NHIDCL, POWERGRID officials and EPC Contractor M/S Sushee Infra and Mining Ltd. DC Jalli also reviewed the status of diversion and shifting of 11 PGCIL TOWERS.

It’s worth mentioning that in a meeting held on 4 October at Deputy Commissioners chamber, it was informed that as per joint survey done, a total of 6 132 kv POWERGRID towers under Revenue will be taken care by District Administration and remaining 5 towers in Forest Land will be looked after by DFO, Cachar for necessary clearance. Powergrid officials were requested to apply for diversion at the earliest. DC, Cachar also reviewed the status of the project and assured the contractors that all necessary support from District Administration for early completion of the work will be provided. EPC contractor updated the status and work programme to DC, Cachar and assured that the completion of work will be done within the stipulated time frame i.e. 30 April, 2023.

A spot visit was also done on the day to officially resume works that were halted during the rainy season. Administration interacted with the locals and assured that local public will get the compensation of Zirat on Revenue land at the earliest. DC Jalli stated further that District Administration will engage Patwari as soon as puja is completed for necessary estimation of zirat and requested locals for providing necessary support for getting the work expedited. The proposal was agreed upon by the local people residing there.

DFO, Cachar ,Tejash Mariswami also assured that necessary support and clearance for early completion of work in forest land will be given. DC, Cachar also reviewed the status of the project and assured the contractors that all necessary support from District Administration for early completion of the work will be provided. EPC contractor updated the status and work programme to DC Cachar and assured that the completion of work will be done within the stipulated time frame i.e. 30 April, 2023, if night time working permission was given which was assured. Further, resurvey of land diverted to develop Highway will be conducted at the earliest between Revenue, Forest and NHIDCL officials.
