দিনদুপুরে অ্যাক্সিস ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে ছিনতাই ১৯ লক্ষ
Customer looted of 19 lakh at Axis Bank Silchar in broad daylight

১৭ ডিসেম্বর : অ্যাক্সিস ব্যাঙ্কে ফের এক ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। এক গ্রাহক ব্যাংক থেকে ১৯ লক্ষ টাকা নিয়ে গাড়িতে ওঠার সময় দু’জন বাইক আরোহী টাকার ব্যাগটি ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছে। ব্যাংক সূত্রে জানা গেছে, এই টাকা জনৈক আমির হোসেনের অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে তোলা হয়েছে। শিলচর অ্যাক্সিস ব্যাংকের মেন ব্রাঞ্চ থেকে প্রকাশ্য দিবালোকে এটি ছিনতাইয়ের তৃতীয় ঘটনা।

প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানিয়েছেন, ব্যাঙ্কের প্রায় সামনেই একটি গাড়ি পার্কিং করে টাকা ফুলতে গিয়েছিলেন গ্রাহক আমির হোসেনের ভাই মাহি লস্কর। কিন্তু টাকা নিয়ে ফিরে তাঁরা যখন গাড়িতে উঠতে যাবেন, তখনই প্রেমতলার দিক থেকে একটি মোটরবাইক দ্রুতগতিতে গাড়ির সামনে এসে ব্যাগটি টান দিয়ে নিয়ে পালিয়ে যায়। মোটরবাইকে দু’জন ছিল। দু’জনের মুখ হেলমেটে ঢাকা ছিল। ফলে পথচারীরা তাঁদের মুখ দেখতে পাননি।

ঘটনার পরই খবর পেইয়ে ছুটে আসে শিলচর সদর থানার ওসি দিতুমণি গোস্বামীর নেতৃত্বে পুলিশ বাহিনী। তল্লাশি অভিযান শুরু হয়েছে, তবে এখনও পর্যন্ত এই ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনার কোনও কুলকিনারা হয়নি।

এ দিকে, ঠিক কতটাকা ছিনতাই হয়েছে, এ নিয়ে ব্যাংক কর্তৃপক্ষ ও গ্রাহকের বয়ানে কোনও মিল ছিল না। ব্যাংক ম্যানেজার বলেন, অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে ১৯ লক্ষ টাকা তোলা হয়েছে। বিপরীতে ব্যাংকের পক্ষে আমির হোসেনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করা হলে তিনি জানান, তাঁর অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে ৯ লক্ষ টাকা তোলা হয়েছে। তবে কারোর পক্ষ থেকেই এখন পর্যন্ত কোনও মামলা দায়ের করা হয়নি।

December 17:  An incident of looting money from a customer again took place at Axis Bank, Silchar. A customer withdrew Rs. 19 lakh from the bank and was just about to board a car outside the branch, when two miscreants came on a motorbike and snatched the bag containing the money. Bank sources revealed that the money was withdrawn from the account of one Amir Hussain. This is the third such instance of snatching money from customers of this Axis Bank branch in broad daylight.

Eye witnesses revealed that, Mahi Laskar, the brother of Amir Hussain parked his car just outside the bank and went inside to withdraw the money. The moment Amir Hussain was about to get inside his car with a bag in his hand containing the money, a motorbike came at a high speed from Premtola and snatched the bag in the twinkling of an eye.

On getting information, police force under OC of Silchar Sadar Police Station Ditumani Goswami rushed to the spot. Police has started the search operation but till now they were unable to find any clue to this incident.

Meanwhile, there was a discrepancy between the bank officials and the customer as regards the exact amount which was looted. The Manager of the branch said that around 19 lakh was withdrawn from the account. However, on being contacted by the bank, Amir Hussain, the account holder said that an amount of 9 lakh was withdrawn. But surprisingly, till now no FIR was lodged with the police.
