Curfew to be imposed between 6 PM to 6 AM during Lockdown 3.0 in Assam
May 02: The government has announced lockdown extension for two weeks till 17 May. MHA also issued new guidelines to regulate different activities in this period, based on the risk profiling of the districts of the country into Red (hotspot), Green and Orange Zones. However, there will be partial easing in orange zones and liberal easing in green zones. Assam government will be announcing its plan of action to be implemented during Lockdown 3.0 on 4 May, 2020. Though Assam govt declared to abide the centre’s guidelines, but indication was given regarding deviation of curfew timings.
State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing on Saturday informed that the MHA guidelines specified that movement of individuals, for all non-essential activities, shall remain strictly prohibited between 7 PM to 7 AM. However, Assam govt is contemplating to advance the curfew hours from 6 PM to 6 AM instead of 7 PM to 7 AM. The minister said that the detailed plan is being worked out and will be declared on 4 May.
