COVID tally crosses 1 lakh mark in Assam with 2560 new cases on Friday
Cachar registered 165 cases, Hailakandi 135
August 28: On Friday, the COVID-19 tally of Assam crossed the 1 lakh mark and reached 1,01,367. During the day, 2560 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the state. As of now, there are 21,771 active cases in Assam. Further, Cachar district registered 165 positive cases and 135 new cases were found in Hailakandi on Friday. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2560 #COVID cases detected today out of 40102 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 6.38% Kamrup M- 562, Jorhat-167, Cachar- 165, Dibrugarh- 139, Hailakandi- 135.”
Further, 8 more deaths were reported during the day, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 286.
