Covid-19: Tweshaa Foundation stands beside people, organises food supply programme
The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the country hard and has left millions of people in distress. To help people in need during these troubled times, Tweshaa Foundation — an NGO formed by Gadadhar Chelleng (ex-Indian Army) and his friends have undertaken multiple activities. Most recently, they have launched a Free Food Supply Programme for people in the most remote villages of Assam.
On its first day of the Food Supply Program, the Foundation has provided ration kits to over 300 families in Maithong, Dirak, Assam. Each ration kit contains Rice, Dal, Oil, Salt, Potato, Onion, Soap, Sanitary Napkins and Masks. The foundation has also been serving meals to patients in home isolation in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts. They also have plans to offer more help to the people in the coming days.
Gadadhar Chelleng said, “It is time to join hands and do our bit in this fight against the pandemic. While the country continues to battle against the virus, there are thousands of families who have lost their sources of income. Hunger is looming for many such families, and our Food Supply Program has been launched to address that.”
