COVID-19 Care Centre inaugurated at Valley Hospital, Silchar
Sept. 10: Valley Hospital & Research Centre, Silchar has included itself in the treatment of COVID-19 positive patients. As more and more novel coronavirus cases are on the rise in Assam, the state government appealed to the private hospitals to come up with COVID Care Centres in their establishments. Responding to the call, many private nursing homes had made provision of treatment of coronavirus patients in their hospitals. In Silchar, Green Heals Hospital was the 1st private player to set up a Covid Care Centre.
Now the 2nd private hospital in Silchar has also started functioning for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. On Thursday, the COVID-19 Care Centre was formally inaugurated at Valley Hospital and Research Centre (P) Ltd. by MP Silchar Dr. Rajdeep Roy in presence of MLA Lakhipur Rajdeep Goala, Director (Admin & HR) of the hospital Sutapa Bhattacharjee, Manging Director Kalyan Deb among others.
It will be a 20-bedded Covid-19 Care Centre with 11 general beds, 2 double cabins and 1 single cabin. Further, the facility will have 4 ICU including 2 ventilators, stated the Director Mrs. Sutapa Bhattacharjee. It was further informed that the cost of treatment at general ward will be around Rs.5000, whereas cabin rents will be Rs.8000 on daily basis. For patients at ICU, the charges will be Rs.10,000 per day. These charges also includes the food for the patients.
Inaugurating the Covid Care Centre, Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MP Silchar thanked the hospital authorities for responding to the appeal of the government and coming up with a COVID-19 Care Centre for treatment of the positive patients. This would certainly help in easing the load of treatment of positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).
Expressing her views, Director of the hospital, Sutapa Bhattacharjee said, “We are very greatful to the Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and expert team of Specialised Doctors for their kind help and guidance about COVID-19 protocol necessary for Infrastructure and treatment. We have been endowed with their approval and certificate declaring the Covid-19 Care Centre fit for treatment of the positive patients.”
She further said, “We are privileged to mention that today we are able to fulfill the cherished dream of our mentors, guide, guardian and most renowned personalities of BarakValley- Dinesh Prasad Goala and Dr. Rahul Gupta. We dedicate this Covid Care Centre in their name and memory.” She also said that the Covid-19 Care Centre at Valley Hospital will treat the coronavirus positive patients abiding by all guidelines and protocols as devised by ICMR.
