Corbevax approved as precaution dose for 18+ population vaccinated with Covaxin, Covishield

Aug. 10: Corbevax will be available as precaution dose after completion of 6 months or 26 weeks from the date of administration of the second dose of either Covaxin or Covishield vaccines for population above 18 years. This was stated in a letter addressed to all states and Union Territories written by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on 8 August.

“This enables use of Corbevax as a heterologous COVID-19 vaccine for precaution dose administration in this age group,” said government. In this connection, necessary changes were also made in the Co-Win portal. This provision would be live from 12 August, 2022.
