Contractors to get bills within 7 days of work completion: CM Assam
New road estimates would be prepared only on April-May every year
Feb. 3: Department from the age old practice of releasing bills of contractors after long months and even years, Assam Government has announced that from now onwards contractors will get their bills within 7 days of completion of any work undertaken by them. This was announced by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Chief Minister Dr Sarma on Thursday reviewed various projects of PWD (Roads) with senior officials and urged them to work towards development of superior infrastructure. The review meeting was held at the Convention & Training Centre, Dispur, Guwahati. During the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma informed that the state government is going to undertake numerous road infra projects to aid the state’s growth. He also released the ‘Pocketbook on Quality Control’ published by the Department.
Here are the highlights of the review meeting:
- SOPD scheme to be replaced with new schemes
- CMGSY to be implemented in Assam in keeping with PMGSY
- Roads to be built by PWD(R) under Mukhyamantri Path Pakikaran Achoni, Mukhyamantri Unnat Paki Path Nirman Achoni, Asom Mala, Mathauri Paki Path Nirman Achoni.
- Contractors to get bills within 7 days of work completion.
- New road estimates would be prepared only on April-May every year
- Systematic reform to be brought in
- Only roads in Road Asset Management System (RAMS) would be approved
