CM holds VC with DCs on mega COVID vaccination drive to be held on 17th September
Focus on second dose for maximum population: CM
Sept. 16: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday held a video conference with Deputy Commissioners of all districts at his conference hall at Janata Bhawan regarding mega COVID vaccination drive to be held in the state on September 17. The vaccination drive has a target of vaccinating 8 lakh people.
Saying that a total of 9.75 lakh people were inoculated in the first mega vaccination drive held in the state from 21st to 23rd June, he stated that those people are now scheduled for their second doses. He directed to carry out massive awareness programmes for bringing the people to vaccination centres to take their second doses and he stressed on the importance of covering maximum people by vaccination before the forthcoming festive season.
The Chief Minister directed the Health Department to engage ASHA Workers, ANMs etc. for administering vaccine doses to maximum people in the same vaccination centres which gave vaccines during the first phase of the drive in June. He issued instruction for sending bulk SMS for informing the people about their vaccine due dates while directing all guarding ministers and guardian secretaries to monitor the vaccination drive in their
respective districts.

He also stressed on the importance of covering the areas where rate of vaccination is lower. In today’s VC, the Chief Minister took stock of the preparations for the mega drive and availability of vaccines and other items.
