CM convenes Conference of DCs & SPs ahead of publication of final NRC
এনআরসি : জেলাশাসক-পুলিশ সুপারদের সঙ্গে আলোচনায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

২৩ আগস্ট : আগামী ৩১ আগস্ট জাতীয় নাগরিক পঞ্জির চূড়ান্ত তালিকা প্রকাশ করার দিকে লক্ষ্য রেখে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সনোয়াল শুক্রবার রাজ্যের সব জেলাশাসক ও পুলিশ সুপারদের সঙ্গে আসামের সার্বিক আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছেন। আসাম প্রশাসনিক মহাবিদ্যালয়ে এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈঠকটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এ দিন জেলাশাসক ও পুলিশ সুপারদের সমাজের প্রভাবশালী ও নেতৃস্থানীয় লোকদের সঙ্গে সুসম্পর্ক বজায় রাখার আহবান জানান।

এনআরসি প্রক্রিয়া সম্পর্কে জনগণের মধ্যে যাতে কোনও ধরনের ভুল বার্তা না পৌঁছায় সে বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন সনোয়াল। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জনপ্রতিনিধি অর্থাৎ বিধায়ক, জেলা পরিষদ সদস্য, পঞ্চায়েত সদস্য এবং বেসরকারি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থা ও সংগঠন ইত্যাদি সবার সহযোগিতা গ্রহণ করতে জেলা প্রশাসনগুলোকে নির্দেশ দেন, যাতে সুপ্রিম কোর্টের প্রত্যক্ষ হস্তক্ষেপে প্রস্তুত হওয়া এনআরসি সম্পর্কে সমাজের সব স্তরের জনগণকে সঠিকভাবে অবগত করানো যায়।

তাছাড়া যাদের নাম এনআরসি তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে না, তারা যে আইনি সুবিধা লাভ করবেন সে বিষয়টিও অবগত করাতে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জেলাশাসক ও পুলিশ সুপারদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।

August 23: As per the direction of the Supreme Court of India, the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be published on 31 August, 2019. Just a week ahead of the publication of final NRC, a conference of all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the state on Law & Order related issues was convened by the Government of Assam, which was attended by the state Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

While addressing the DCs and SPs of the state Chief Minister Sonowal urged upon them to ensure that there exists no misunderstanding among anyone over the NRC across the state.

He added that all persons ought to be made aware of the real implications of NRC. In this regard, he said that the DCs and SPs may seek the cooperation of public representatives like MLAs, Zilla Parishad members, Panchayat members and NGOs.

Quoting the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Chief Minister said that those who will be excluded from the final NRC are to approach the Foreigners’ Tribunal. Mere exclusion from NRC should not empower anyone to treat them as foreigners. Sonowal also said that the youth should be motivated to make proper use of social media so that rumours and misinformation are not spread by them.
