Claims of viral pic of Big B with don Dawood false; it’s Ashok Chavan clarifies Abhishek

Sept. 20: A picture of Amitabh Bachhan has become viral in social media recently wherein he is seen in a close friendly gesture with a man. Alongside the viral pic, goes a caption which reads, “Amitabh Bachhan with the most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. This is the patriotism of the Bachhans.” The picture soon became viral in Facebook, WhatsApp & Twitter.

The picture has come to surface and the Bachhan family is being trolled by netizens after Samajwadi party member and actress Jaya Bachhan alleged that a continuous attempt to defame the film industry is made, taking an indirect jibe at Kangana Ranaut who equated Bollywood with ‘gutter’ and actor-politician Ravi Kishan who has claimed that drug addiction happens in the film industry.

Taking to his twitter handle, Abhishek Bachhan, son of Big B clarified a twitterati and wrote, “Borther, this photo is of my father and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Shankarrao Chavan.”

In an image search in Google, it became significantly evident that the person with whom Amitabh Bachchan is shaking hands is not Dawood Ibrahim but Maharashtra leader Ashok Shankarrao Chavan. The photo is very old and blurred, due to which many people are making Ashok Chavan a Dawood by making the photo viral with false claims. The clarification by Abhishek Bachhan therefore seems to be genuine. Infact this photo of Amitabh Bacchan with Ashok Chavan came in Times of India on 25 March, 2010. It is in this context that the security of the Bachhans has been enhanced by the government.
