Bomb blast at Police Bazar in Shillong, CM Meghalaya condemns the act
Jan. 30: At around 6.30 PM on Sunday, a low-intensity blast occured at Police Bazar, the heart of Shillong in Meghalaya. The blast took place near Delhi Misthanna Bhandar. However, Meghalaya Police stated that there were no reports of any casualty. As part of the Sunday lockdown due to Covid, most of the shops there at Police Bazar were closed. Immediately, bomb squad reached the blast site and took charge of the area. However, the blast has given rise to panic among the people.
Taking to his twitter handle CM Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma wrote, “Strongly condemn the blast at Police Bazar, Shillong this evening. An attempt to disrupt peace and bring harm is nothing but a cowardly act. Perpetrators will not be spared. We will ensure peace prevails in the State.”
