১৯ নভেম্বরঃ বড়োল্যান্ডকে কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল করে দেওয়ার কোনও খবর কেন্দ্রীয় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিংহের জানা  নেই। তিনি সোমবার সন্ধ্যায় বড়োল্যান্ড সমস্যা নিয়ে আবসু, পিজিএসিবিএম, রাজ্য সরকারের সঙ্গে বৈঠকে বসেন। এর আগেই খবর রটে গিয়েছিল, সরকার তাদের কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল ঘোষণার দাবি মেনে নিয়েছেন। এর জেরে আজ অবড়ো সংগঠনগুলি বনধও পালন করে। গোটা এলাকায় আংশিক সাড়া মেলে। এনডিএফবির সঙ্গে শান্তি আলোচনার মধ্যস্থতাকারী আর এন মাথুরও জানান, তিনি এমন কথা জানেন না। নিজে এই ধরনের কোনও প্রতিশ্রুতিও দেননি। পুরোটাই অপপ্রচার।

এ দিনের বৈঠকের পরে রাজনাথ আশ্বাস দেন, দীর্ঘদিন থেকে চলা বড়োল্যান্ড সমস্যার স্থায়ী, শান্তিপূর্ণ ও দ্রুত সমাধানের ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। আবসু, পিজিএসিবিএম এবং এনডিএফবি (পি) পৃথক বড়োল্যান্ডের দাবিতে সরব। রাজনাথ ডিসেম্বরের দ্বিতীয় সপ্তাহে সকলকে ত্রিপাক্ষিক বৈঠকে ডেকেছেন। সেখানে উপজাতিদের জমির অধিকার, সংস্কৃতি সুরক্ষা ইত্যাদি নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে।

November 19: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is in complete dark as regards Bodoland to become a Union Territory. On Monday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met with a delegation of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) and PJACBM in New Delhi. But before the meeting, a rumour was spread that the Union government has agreed to the demand of making Bodoland a Union Territory. The Abodo Suraksha Samiti (ABSS) staged a protest against the Narendra Modi-led government in wake of reports of upgrading the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) into a Union Territorial Council in Baksa on Sunday.

However, peace interlocutor R.N. Mathur said that he is totally in the dark of any such assurance by the Union Government of granting the status of Union Territory to Bodoland. The centre on Monday assured that it would resolve the long pending Bodo issues and arrive at a sustainable and permanent peace in the region. Rajnath Singh said that he would talk with the Assam government and all other stakeholders on various demand raised by ABSU.

The ABSU delegation was led by its president Pramod Boro. He said “We have also reiterated our demand for Scheduled Tribe (Hills) status to the Bodos living in Assam and Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. We want proper implementation of Clause No. 8 of BTC accord.”
