Biswajit Daimary to be next Speaker, Nomal Momin to be Deputy Speaker

May 20: The stage is all set for former Paneri MLA Biswajit Daimary and Bokajan MLA Dr. Numal Momin to become the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Assembly respectively. Biswajit Daimary also wrote in Facebook that he has filed a nomination for the 21^st speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly and extended his gratitude to all party leaders in the state and national level. “The meeting of BJP state committee has nominated former MP and senior MLA Biswajit Daimary as the next speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly,” Assam BJP said in a statement. Meanwhile, the first Assam Assembly session after the formation of the new government is all set to begin on Friday, May 21.
