Bike borne miscreants snatches gold chain from a woman at College Road, Silchar

Nov. 6: It;s another incident of snatching away gold chain by bike borne miscreants in Silchar. This time the incident occured opposite Niranjan Paul Institute, College Road, Silchar. A lady came out from a grocery store near Boris Baker store at College Road. Suddenly, 2 bike borne miscreants came near her and before she could understand anything, the pillion rider snatched away the gold chain from her neck and fled away from the spot. The incident occurred around 7 PM on Friday.

She at once raised a hue and cry, but by that time the miscreants disappeared from the spot. Passers by and shopkeepers from the vicinity rushed hearing her screams. They tried to locate the bike borne miscreants but in vain.

Post-lockdown, such incidents of money and chain snatching have increased in all the three districts of Barak Valley. Concerned residents have urged that strict vigil should be done by the police so that such anti-social elements could be nabbed.
