Big Breaking: Babul Hore wins post of President DSA, Bijendra becomes General Secretary

November 24: The election to the Governing Body of District Sports Association (DSA) witnessed a lot of speculations, big names like that of the Chief Minister even dragged in. It became a direct fight between the Congress and the BJP. The campaigning was also a high voltage one with Sushmita Dev, Rajdeep Roy, Aminul Haque and other leaders of both the parties involving themselves directly in planning and canvassing.

Finally, in the big fight of ballot in the election of  DSA, Silchar, Babul Hore ultimately emerged victorious by defeating Dipayan Chakraborty. For the post of Honorary General Secretary, it was a very close contest, but ultimately Bijendra Prasad Singh (Badsha) got 121 votes and defeated Atanu Bhattacharjee by only 5 votes. The final counting came to an end at 10.20 PM on Sunday.

Out of a total of 26 posts, election was held for only 12 posts. The rest 14 candidates were declared unopposed. A total of 241 voters decided the fate of 27 candidates who contested for the 12 posts of DSA’s General Body.
