Barak Valley girl Debosmita become runners up in inter-college dance competition in Kolkata

February 22: Debosmita Biswas, a talented and versatile girl of Barak Valley became the runners up in inter-college dance competition in Kolkata. A renowned college, Saint Paul’s Cathedral Mission College of Kolkata organised the Inter-College dance competition on last Thursday, where a number of students from entire Kolkata participated representing their prestigious colleges.

Debosmita participated in the Eastern solo dance category representing the prominent Scottish Church College of Kolkata. Her enthralling performance based on the theme of ‘basanta’ (the spring) was appreciated and applauded by all and sundry present there. She was declared runners up in the competition which saw some breath taking performances.

Debosmita Biswas, is the daughter of Debasish Biswas and Shovana Dhar. They orginally belong to Ramkrishna Nagar of Barak Valley. She completed her HSLC from Haflong and graduated from Silchar. At present, she is pursuing her M.Sc from Scottish Church College under University of Calcutta.

Debosmita is learning dance under a renowned and popular choreographer of Bengal, Dona Ganguly at her institution ‘Diksha Manjari.’ Recently, she has won the hearts of many in Kolkata by her excellent dance performances at different prestigious programmes in Kolkata.

Debosmita is basically a dancer, model, anchor and social worker. In 2019, she won the title of ‘Miss Calendar’ in the biggest beauty pageant show of Barak Valley. She is actively associated with noted organisations like Esho Boli, Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum, Leo Club etc.

Sabyasachee Rudra Gupta, founder President of ‘Esho Boli’ and the Chartered President of Lions Club of Silchar Greater and many more of her well wishers and friends greeted Debosmita for her success and wished her a bright future ahead.
