Assam University to hold selection trial for Eastern Badminton Tournament on Nov 12

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৬ নভেম্বর : আগামী ডিসেম্বর মাসে ওড়িশার সাম্বলপুরে আয়োজিত হচ্ছে পূৰ্বাঞ্চলীয় আন্তঃবিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ব্যাডমিন্টন প্ৰতিযোগিতা৷ এতে অংশ নেওয়ার জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও কলেজ স্তরের পড়ুয়াদের বাছাই করবে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়৷ আগামী ১২ নভেম্বর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নেতাজি সুভাষ মুক্তমঞ্চে এই বাছাই পৰ্ব আয়োজিত হবে৷ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্পোৰ্টস বোৰ্ডের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, এই বাছাই প্ৰক্রিয়ার ফলে নিৰ্বাচিত পড়ুয়ারা পূৰ্বাঞ্চলীয় আন্তঃবিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ব্যাডমিন্টন প্ৰতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পাবেন৷

আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্পোৰ্টস বোৰ্ডের পক্ষ থেকে এও জানানো হয়েছে, ওইদিন বেলা এগারোটা থেকে পুরুষ ও মহিলা উভয় বিভাগের খেলোয়াড়দের বাছাই পৰ্ব শুরু হবে৷ এতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিলচর ও ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন কলেজের ছাত্ৰছাত্ৰীরাও অংশ নিতে পারবেন৷ তবে অংশগ্ৰহণকারীদের অবশ্যই স্নাতক বা স্নাতকোত্তর স্তরের পড়ুয়া হতে হবে৷ এই বাছাই পৰ্বে অংশ নিতে পড়ুয়াদের ‘স্পোৰ্টস কিট’ সঙ্গে আনতে হবে৷

পরবৰ্তীতে নিৰ্বাচিত খেলোয়াড়দের জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এক প্ৰশিক্ষণ শিবিরেরও আয়োজন করা হবে৷ এই শিবিরে নিৰ্বাচিত খেলোয়াড়দের অংশগ্ৰহণ বাধ্যতামূলক থাকছে৷ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পুরুষ ও মহিলা দলের চূড়ান্ত নিৰ্বাচন প্ৰাথমিক বাছাই পৰ্বের পারফরম্যান্স ও পরবৰ্তীতে প্ৰশিক্ষণ শিবিরে সন্তোষজনক অংশগ্ৰহণের ওপর নিৰ্ভর করবে৷ প্ৰসঙ্গত, এই নিৰ্বাচিত খেলোয়াড়রাই পূৰ্বাঞ্চলীয় আন্তঃবিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ব্যাডমিন্টন প্ৰতিযোগিতায় আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হয়ে প্ৰতিনিধিত্ব করবেন৷

Way2barak, 6 November : The Eastern Inter-University Badminton Tournament will be held in Sambalpur, Odisha, this coming December. To select participants for this tournament, Assam University will organize a selection trial for university and college-level students. The event will take place on November 12 at the university’s Netaji Subhas Muktamanch. According to the Assam University Sports Board, selected students through this process will get the opportunity to represent the Assam University in the Eastern Inter-University Badminton Tournament.

The Sports Board further informed that the selection round will begin at 11 am on that day for both men’s and women’s categories. Students from the Silchar and Diphu campuses, as well as from affiliated colleges, will be eligible to participate. However, all participants must be graduate-level or postgraduate-level students. Participants are also required to bring their own sports kits for the selection trial.

Later, a training camp will be organized at the university for the selected players, and attendance at the camp will be mandatory. The final men’s and women’s university teams will be chosen based on performance in the initial selection round and satisfactory participation in the training camp. Notably, these selected players will represent Assam University in the upcoming Eastern Inter-University Badminton Tournament.
