Assam University signs MoU with Tocklai
যোরহাটের টকলাই’র সঙ্গে সমঝোতা চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১ আগস্ট : চা নিয়ে গবেষণার জন্য যোরহাটের চা গবেষণা কেন্দ্ৰ ‘টকলাই’র সঙ্গে সমঝোতা চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর করল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়৷ গতকাল উপাচাৰ্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থের উপস্থিতিতে এই সমঝোতা চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর করেন টকলাই টি রিসাৰ্চ ইনস্টিটিউটের ডিরেক্টর ড. ভেঙ্কটেসন সেলভারাজ ও আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিবন্ধক ড. প্ৰদোষ কিরণ নাথ৷

বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হেমাঙ্গ বিশ্বাস সভাকক্ষে এ উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে উপাচাৰ্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ বলেন, চা গবেষণায় সহযোগিতার ক্ষেত্ৰে এ এক যুগান্তকারী পদক্ষেপ৷ তিনি আশা প্ৰকাশ করেন, এই সমঝোতা চুক্তির ফলে গবেষণার ক্ষেত্ৰ আরও প্ৰসারিত হবে এবং এতে চায়ের সামগ্ৰিক উৎপাদন ও গুণগত মান আরও উন্নত হবে৷ এব্যাপারে পারস্পরিক সম্মতিতে শীঘ্ৰই বিস্তারিত নিৰ্দেশিকা তৈরি করা হবে বলেও জানান উপাচাৰ্য৷

প্ৰসঙ্গত, এই সমঝোতা চুক্তির ফলে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষকরা যোরহাটের চা গবেষণা কেন্দ্ৰের ল্যাবরেটরিতে গিয়ে কাজ করতে পারবেন৷ পাশাপাশি যৌথ গবেষণার ক্ষেত্ৰ তৈরি হবে৷ আয়োজিত হবে চা বিষয়ক নানা কৰ্মসূচিও৷ এছাড়া চায়ের ওপর ইন্টাৰ্নশিপ যেমন চালু হবে, তেমনি জাতীয় শিক্ষানীতি অনুযায়ী চায়ের ওপর প্ৰশিক্ষণ ও দক্ষতা বিকাশ কোর্সও শুরু হবে৷ অন্যদিকে টকলাইয়ে যাঁরা গবেষণা করছেন, তাঁদের নাম আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন বিভাগে নিবন্ধন করা হবে৷

এ দিনের অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আইকিউএসি’র ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক পীয়ূষ পাণ্ডে, রসায়ন বিভাগের বরিষ্ঠ অধ্যাপক চিররঞ্জন ভট্টাচাৰ্য, কলেজ ডেভেলপমেন্ট কাউন্সিলের ডিরেক্টর জয়ন্ত ভট্টাচাৰ্য, পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্ৰক ড. সুপ্ৰবীর দত্তরায় প্ৰমুখ৷ উপস্থিত ছিলেন রোজকান্দি চা বাগানের জেনারেল ম্যানেজার ঈশ্বরভাই উবাদিয়াও৷

way2barak, August 1 : Assam University signed a MoU with Tocklai Research Institute, Jorhat for collaboration of research on Tea. In presence of Prof Rajive Mahon Pant, Vice Chancellor, the MoU was signed by Dr. Venkatesan Selvaraj, Director of Tocklai and Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath, Registrar of AUS.

On this occasion at the Hemang Biswas Meeting Hall, Vice Chancellor Prof. Pant said, this is a landmark step in the field of collaborate research. He expressed hope that this MoU will further expand the scope of research and improve the overall production and quality of tea. The Vice Chancellor also said, details guidelines will be prepared soon with mutual agreement in this regard.

As a result of this MoU, researchers from versity will be able to work in the laboratories of the Tea Research Institute in Jorhat. In addition, a joint research area will be created. Various programs related to tea will be organized. Internships on tea will be started, as well as training and skill development courses on tea will also be started as per the National Education Policy. On the other hand, the names of those who are doing research in Tocklai will be registered in various departments of Assam University.

Among others present at the event were Prof Piyush Pandey, Director of IQAC, Prof. Chiraranjan Bhattacharjee, Senior Professor of the Dept. of Chemistry, Jayant Bhattacharjee, Director of College Development Council, Dr. Suprabir Dutta Roy, Controller of Examinations and Ishwarbhai Ubadia, General Manager of Rosekandy Tea Estate.
