Assam University organises awareness programme on Dr. Ambedkar at Budhurail
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উদ্যোগে সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি বুধুরাইল হাইস্কুলে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৯ সেপ্টেম্বর : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের উদ্যোগে মঙ্গলবার জয়ফরপুরের বুধুরাইল হাইস্কুলে এক সচেতনতামূলক অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজিত হয়। ভারতরত্ন ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকরের জীবন ও কর্মের ওপর আয়োজিত এই কর্মসূচির মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল সমতা ও সামাজিক ন্যায়বিচারের বার্তা তরুণ প্রজন্মের মধ্যে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া।

অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা করেন বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক যশবন্ত নারায়ণ চৌধুরী। উদ্বোধনী ভাষণে তিনি ড. আম্বেদকরের দর্শনের চিরকালীন প্রাসঙ্গিকতার ওপর আলোকপাত করেন। কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য রচনা ও চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হয়। প্রতিযোগিতায় বিজয়ীদের পদক ও সনদ প্রদান করে সম্মানিত করা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানের মূল বক্তব্য উপস্থাপন করেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. মৌমিতা নাথ। তিনি ড. আম্বেদকরের বর্ণবৈষম্যের বিরুদ্ধে আজীবন সংগ্রাম, তাঁর অসামান্য শিক্ষাগত কৃতিত্ব ও সামাজিক সমতার জন্য নিরলস প্রচেষ্টার কথা উল্লেখ করেন। ড. নাথ আরও বলেন, আম্বেদকর দলিত সমাজের ক্ষমতায়নে এক পথপ্রদর্শক ভূমিকা পালন করেছিলেন। তিনি ভারতের অর্থনীতিতে তাঁর অবদান এবং সংবিধানের প্রধান নির্মাতা হিসেবে তাঁর ঐতিহাসিক ভূমিকার কথাও তুলে ধরেন।

এই অনুষ্ঠানটি সফল করতে সক্রিয় ভূমিকা পালন করেন ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের গবেষক বিশাল দাস। কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে বুধুরাইল হাইস্কুলের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীরা বৃক্ষরোপণ এবং পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযানেও সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। এর মাধ্যমে পরিবেশের প্রতি দায়বদ্ধতা ও সামাজিক সেবার মূল্যবোধকে জোরদার করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক বলরাম ঘোষ, রাজীব শর্মা, ড. মৌটুসী নাথ, ফুলবাবু তন্তুবাই, নুরুল হক বরভূঁইয়া, রূপা পাল সহ আরও অনেকে।

Way2barak, September 9 : The Dr. Ambedkar Chair of Assam University conducted an awareness programme on the life and works of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at Budhurail High School, Jaiforpur. The event combined academic and cultural activities with community outreach, spreading Ambedkar’s message of equality and social justice.

The programme began with the inaugural address by the Headmaster Jashabanta Narayan Choudhury, who emphasized the continuing relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy. As part of the programme, essay and art competitions were organized earlier among the students, and the winners were felicitated with medals and certificates.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Dr. Maumita Nath, Assistant Professor, Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Assam University, highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s life-long struggles against caste discrimination, his academic brilliance, and his tireless fight for social equality. She further spoke about his pioneering role in Dalit empowerment, contributions to the Indian economy, and his monumental role as the chief architect of the Constitution of India. Dr. Nath underlined Ambedkar’s immense contribution to nation-building and his vision of democracy rooted in justice, liberty, and equality.

The programme also recognized the active contribution of Bishal Das, Research Scholar, Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Assam University, who assisted in coordinating the events. As part of an extension programme in association with the school, students and teachers enthusiastically participated in a plantation drive and a cleanliness campaign, reinforcing the values of environmental responsibility and community service. The event was attended by faculty members including Boloram Ghosh, Rajib Sharma, Dr. Mautushi Nath, Fulbabu Tontubay, Nurul Haque Barbhuiya, Rupa Paul, among others. Their encouragement added to the success of the programme.
