Amidst lockdown, massive fire at 16th floor of residential building in Kolkata

March 30: Amidst lockdown, a massive fire broke out on the 16th floor of a high-rise residential building in a posh neighbourhood in the Bhawanipore area of south Kolkata on Monday morning, according to media reports. 12 fire engines rushed to the spot and finally brought the flames under control.

The fire broke out at around 10:15 am. Hydraulic ladders were brought in to reach the source of the fire but could not be operated till 11am. As per fire officials, there are no reports of any casualty as yet. A video shot by a local resident showed smoke billowing out of the building.
