Assam set to get new 6th National Park: Minister Parimal Suklabaidya unveils map

Nov. 28: Assam will soon get a new national park. This was informed by Forest and Environment minister Parimal Suklabaidya. Map of Assam’s 6th proposed ‘Raimona National Park’ was unveiled on Saturday by Forest and Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya. The map was unveiled at Mathanguri, Manas National Park.

Taking to his twitter handle, Minister Suklabaidya wrote, “Another success feather is adding to the biodiversity cap of Assam soon as we have initiated the process for approving the proposal for thre 6th National Park of Assam the ‘Raimona National Park’. Today unveiled the map of this upcoming park at Mathanguri, Manas National Park.”

Currently, Assam has five national parks, namely: Kaziranga National park, Manas National Park, Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, Orang National Park and Nameri National Park.
