Assam registers 8 more deaths due to COVID-19, tally rises to 378

Sept. 8: On Tuesday, another 8 deaths due to COVID-19 were registered in Assam. With this, the death toll in the state has now gone upto 378. In a tweet on Tuesday night, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 8 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the dicease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The deceased were identified as:

• Azizur Rahman (53) of Udalguri
• Rina Bhuyan Saikia (63) of Hojai
• Bhanu Chandra Dey (66) of Kamrup Metro
• Parag Kumar Borah (53) & Dilip Kumar Phukan (54) of Dibrugarh
• Shanu Sutradhar (37) of Cachar
• Anjali Rani Dutta (60) of Jorhat
• Rajesh Subedi (41) of Bongaigaon
