Assam registers 2698 +ve cases on Saturday, tally rises to 1,23,922

Sept. 5: On Saturday, 2698 new cases of novel coronavirus were detected in Assam. With this, the state tally has now gone upto 1,23,922. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2698 #COVID cases detected today out of 35147 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 7.67% Kamrup M- 700; Bongaigaon- 190; Lakhimpur- 151; Kamrup R- 142.”

Further, 7 persons died in the state on Saturday due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death toll to 352.
