Assam registers 18 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Wednesday, tally rises to 396

Sept. 9: On Wednesday, Assam registered the so far highest number of 18 deaths due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll of the state has now gone upto 396. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 18 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The deceased were identified as:

• Abdul Hague (65), Dipti Moni Gogoi (44), Phuleswari Deka (58) & Eid Muhammmad (63) of Dibrugarh
• Indeshwar Das (56) of Charaideo
• K.Jndiya (50), Labanya Baruah (79) & Mothang Chutia (60) of Tinsukia
• Tayeb Alom Bora (68) of Sivasagar
• Jagdish Ch Das (80), Madhabananda Goswami (84) of Kamrup Metro
• Biva Rani Saha (70), Bishnu Pada Saha (50) & Gosto Chandra Barman (59) of Dhubri
• Golap Chandra Das (60) of Bongaigaon
• Rajani Kanta Haloi (72) & Prafulla Kalita (64) of Nalbari,
• Bhumi Dutta Sharmah (64) of Sonitpur
