Assam registers 12 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday, toll reaches 865

Oct. 17: On Saturday, another 12 patients lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Assam. With this, the death toll in the state has now gone upto 865. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 12 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief..” The 12 deceased were identified as:

• Digambar Rabha (58) of Kamrup Rural
• D Faihriem (75) of Karbi Anglong
• Mukul Baruah (74) of Kamrup Metro
• Ambeswari Boruah (78) & Roshila Soren (35) of Golaghat
• Lakshmi Goswami (46), Bipen Sharma (66) & Haradhan Ghosh (73) of Jorhat
• Anju Mili (30) of Dhemaji
• Anima Das (72) of Dibrugarh
• Jahir Islam (52) of Chirang
