Aryabhatta science centre organises district level science meet in Cachar
way2barak, June 30: The District Organising Committee, Aryabhatta Science Centre in association with district administration, Cachar organised a district-level science meet -2024 at Government Girls higher Secondary & Multipurpose School here on Sunday with a day long program.
The purpose of organising the competition is to develop scientific temperament among the students, to make science education exciting through experimentation and other hands-on activities and to promote basic science as a career option.
Students from various schools under Cachar Education Block participated in the competition by displaying their handmade science blocks on different subjects.
Inaugurating the event by the district development commissioner, Cachar, Norsing Bey, who was the special guest of the occasion, appreciated the Aryabhatta Science Centre for organising the competition so that children can foster creative talent and generate scientific temper.
DDC, Bey also appreciated the students for coming to participate in the competition, where they can demonstrate their talent and creativity and urged the students to be sincere in their studies, which is the prime duty of students.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest of the occasion, Professor of NIT Silchar, Fazal Ahmed Talukdar thanked Aryabhatta Science Centre for promoting science and technological matters among school children of the villages. He advised parents and teachers to guide students which could help common people to live and work in better condition.
The inaugural session was followed by the inauguration of the exhibition stalls by DDC, Norsing Bey and the chief guest, Professor, NIT, Fazal Ahmed Talukder.
DDC , Bey also held an interaction with the district coordinators of Aryabhatta Science Centre, Cachar and discussed ways of strengthening the activities of the centre.
Later, Science-based extempore speech competition, poster drawing competition, idea and model making competition was also held on the day.
The event was concluded with the distribution of prizes to the participants in the different categories.
It is worthy to mention that the winners of the science competition held in Cachar will participate in the state level competition in Guwahati on 4th & 5th July.
