APCC appoints Tamal Banik as President of Silchar District Congress Committee
Rajat Chakraborty appointed as President of Kxj DCC & Samsuddin Barlaskar as President of Hkd DCC
April 27: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has appointed former Municipal Chairperson, Tamal Kanti Banik as the President of Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC). Apart from Silchar DCC, appointments were made of 5 other DCC’s of Hailakandi, Karimganj, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Charaideo. Tamal Kanti Banik will be replacing Arun Dutta Majumdar as the President of Silchar DCC.
Issuing an order to this effect, Apurba Kr. Bhattacharjee, General Secretary (Admin) of APCC stated, “Assam PCC President, Shri Bhupen Bora is pleased to appoint the following persons District Presidents (I/C) as mentioned below with immediate effect until further order:
- Jorhat DCC: Putul Buragohain: President
- Sivasagar DCC: Manjeer Gogoi: President
- Charaideo DCC: Anuj Borkotoky: President
- Karimganj DCC: Rajat Chakraborty: President
- Silchar DCC: Tamal Kanti Banik: President
The order further stated, “The APCC appreciated the contributions of the outgoing Presidents Shri Dip Gogoi- Jorhat DCC; Shri Lakhi Handique-Sivasagar DCC; Shri Pabitra Saikia- Charaideo DCC; Shri Satu Roy- Karimganj DCC; Shri Hiralal Dutta Purkayastha- Hailakandi DCC and Shri Arun Dutta Majumdar- Silchar DCC.
