Another official of Education Dept in Assam caught red-handed while accepting bribe

Aug. 18: On Wednesday, the sleuths of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam arrested the Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO) of Rani village in Assam’s Kamrup district. The arrested officer was identified as Lachit Basumatary. Within 24 hours of this incident, another corrupt official of the Education Department of the state was caught red-handed on Thursday while accepting bribe.

As per reports, Jatindra Nath Roy, UDA of Hadurhat Dharmasala higher secondary school, Dhubri district demanded a bribe from the complainant of the case for transferring complainant’s service sheet and last pay certificate (LPC). The complainant then secretly approached the vigilance and anti corruption wing, who inturn laid a trap and arrested the official red-handed while accepting the bribe money.

Informing this, GP Singh, Special DGP L&O, Border, Director V&AC tweeted, “Relentless campaign. Sri Jatindra Nath Roy, UDA of Hadurhat Dharmasala H.S. School, Dhubri district has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of @DIR_VAC _ASSAM while accepting demanded money for transferring complainant’s service sheet and LPC.”
