Another Covid +ve patient from Rangirkhari dies at Green Heals Hospital on Tuesday

May 4: On Tuesday, Silchar witnessed the death of another Covid-19 positive patient. The deceased was identified as Lipika Choudhury (50) W/O Sumanto Chaudhury,  Field Manager of Aenakhal Tea Estate in Hailakandi. A resident of Rangirkhari, Silchar, Lipika Choudhury was admitted at Green Heals Pvt. Hospital in Silchar after she suffered from stroke on 2 May, 2021. After being admitted, the hospital authorities did her RT-PCR test in which she tested positive. Inspite of the best efforts of the physicians, the patient breathed her last at 1.55 PM on 4 May, 2021. She was Covid-19 positive along with other comorbidities.

During the day, another Covid Positive patient from Silchar died at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH)  This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as:

• Situ Roy (60) from Tarapur, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 27 April, 2021. The patient breathed his last at 11 PM on 4 May, 2021.

As per protocol, the death details were  forwarded to the State Death Audit Board in Guwahati for final certification of Covid or non-Covid death.
