Another 4 new cases in Cachar on Friday, day’s tally rises to 97

August 14: Another 4 new cases of coronavirus was reported in Cachar on Friday, as per the 5th slot of RT-PCR Test. With this, the day’s total has now gone upto 97. Out of this, 17 persons were detected positive in 5 slots of RT-PCR Test, whereas, 80 of them were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). On Friday, 1184 Rapid tests were done in Cachar. This was disclosed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert.

As per the available data, a total of 3757 persons were found positive in Cachar district as of now. Out of them, 2159 persons were cured and subsequently discharged from hospitals and Covid Care Centres. At present, there are 1587 active cases in Cachar. Further, the COVID-19 death tally of the district has gone upto 11.

In the results of 1st slot of RT-PCR Test on Friday, 08 persons were found positive in Cachar district. Out of them, 4 persons have travel history. They are 32-year-old male from Matinagar, Amraghat Pt-II (Air passenger from Bangalore), 21-year-old male from Uttar Lalponi P-V Jirighat (Air passenger from Bangalore), 59 years old man from CRPF Camp in Kashipur (Air passenger from Haryana) and 33 years old female quarantined at Hotel Kalpataru (Air passenger from Rajasthan). Further, two more passengers were infected after they came in direct contact with a high risk lab confirmed case. These two persons are a 65-year-old male from Joypur Pt-I and a 74-year-old female from Ambicapatty, Silchar. Another 2 persons tested positive in the 1st slot are from 20 years old female from Madhurband and 50 years old male from Salganga. Both are symptomatic.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test, one person from Cachar was found positive. The patient aged 60 years male is from Hospital Road, Silchar. He was detected with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARI). He is symptomatic.

The 3rd slot contained details of 4 patients, but all of them are from Karimganj. In the 4th slot of RT-PCR Test, 4 persons from Cachar district were detected as coronavirus positive from Cachar district. They are a 3-years-old child from near Cachar High School, Malugram. The child was detected positive with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms. The others are 30-year-old male from Subhas Nagar, 45-year-old male from Meherpur and 56-year-old male from Bahadurpur Road in Gossaipur. Their source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF. However, all 4 of them are symptomatic.

In the 5th slot of RT-PCR Test, four persons were found COVID-19 positive. Among them, 2 are from 01 BN BSF Dholcherra. A 55-year-old male from Public School Road, Silchar also tested positive. All of them are asymptomatic but came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. The 4th positive in this slot is a 32 years old male from Binnakandi.
