All shops & business establishments in Cachar except essential commodities to remain closed on 23 & 24 March: DC

March 22: As a precautionary measure to prevent the possibility of the outbreak and spread of COVID-19 (corona virus) among the inhabitants of Cachar, Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner has clamped Section 34 of the Disaster management act,2005 in the entire district. In an order, DC Cachar has stated that all business establishments and shops, except essential commodities through out Cachar District will remain closed from 6 AM of 23 March till 9 PM of 24 March, 2020.

DC Cachar further stated that all malls in the district including Goldighi Mall will remain closed on 23 March until further order. Further all the weekly markets including selling of fish, meat in open place through out Cachar District will remain closed until further order.

Non compliance of the orders will be dealt strictly under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act, 2005. This was stated in a press release issued from Regional Office of Information and Public Relations, Barak Zone, Assam.
