All regular passenger trains cancelled till 30 June, special trains to continue
May 14: All train tickets that were booked for regular passenger train services for travel on or before 30 June 2020 have been cancelled by Indian Railways. According to the statement issued by Indian Railways, except Shramik and special trains, all regular passenger train services including Mail or Express trains, passenger and suburban or local train services will remain cancelled until further advice.
For trains cancelled by Railways and with respect to PSR Counter Ticket, the guidelines from the Ministry of Railways states, “Refund across the counter can be taken on submission of Ticket up to six months from date of journey (instead of 3 days excluding day of journey).” For E-ticket–it is auto refunded as per the guidelines. For train not cancelled, however, if the passenger does not want to perform journey, the guidelines states, “As a special case, full refund for already booked reserved tickets, both PSR counter generated and E-tickets shall be given.”
Passengers who are disallowed from travelling on trains because of symptoms associated with the novel coronavirus will receive full refund for their tickets, the railways has said. According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, all passengers shall be compulsorily screened and only asymptomatic passengers shall be allowed to enter/board trains. Regular mail, express, passenger and suburban services of the railways had been suspended from March 25 due to the coronavirus-triggered lockdown.
