All final year UG, PG exams cancelled by Odhisa, alternative evaluation method to be adopted
June 19: The number of coronavirus cases are increasing by leaps and bounds. It is in this backdrop that the Odisha state universities have decided to cancel all the UG and PG final year exams or final semester exams except for Medical, Paramedical, and Pharmacy courses. The results will be declared by August 2020 on the basis of an alternative evaluation method that would be adopted by universities and autonomous colleges.
As per the alternative evaluation method, students will be awarded marks on the basis of internal marks, practical marks, and average of marks obtained in all previous semesters or years in the corresponding papers of that subject. In those cases where universities have not been able to conduct the final year or final semester practical exams, the practical marks will be decided as an average of the marks received in the practical exams held in earlier years or semesters.
However, if a student is of the view that they can get more marks than the alternative method of evaluation, universities, and autonomous colleges will conduct examinations for them in November. This decision is not applicable to the students who have already completed their practical and theory examinations. Also, students with two back papers cannot appear in these examinations. Proportionate quotient or other evaluation methods will be used for the evaluation of these back papers.
