All family members of Dr.Monika Deb tests negative

July 7: All the family members of eminent Gynaecologist of the Valley, Dr. Monika Deb tested negative. It needs mention here that Dr. Monika Deb tested COVID-19 positive on Monday. Though she was asymptomatic, however, as per protocol, swab test of all her family members were done. ‘

Taking to her Facebook Page, Dr. Monika Deb wrote, “I am grateful to God that all my family members tested NEGATIVE. Being a doctor never ever had the attitude of refusing patient even being aware and scared of community breakdown occurring. A patient’s request cannot be denied. Did regular operations as well as saw outdoor patients regularly in spite of pandemics maintaining distancing as far as possible.”

She further expressed thanks to all those who wished her a quick recovery. Dr.Deb wrote, “I am asymptomatic , just thought of testing as I was coming in contacts with many. Receiving messages from well wishers, patients friends ..with a small note ‘GET WELL SOON’ is enough of a blessing and love for me. Received innumerable calls & messages since yesterday.”

However, Dr. Monika Deb also took a dig at those who acted in an insensible way at this hour. Inspite of asking about her health, a few remained concerned only of their safety. She wrote, “But yes, in between remains few (would say countable ones) uneducated, but so called literate ones who just knowing the fact, jumps up as if a CRIME on my part and calling up asking what will happen to them since they came in contact, not bothering to know how i contracted it. This is a society for whom we work. They might be ones needing my help in near future.”

Dr. Monika Deb is admitted in the COVID-19 ward, but she is asymptomatic and her condition is learnt to be stable.
