Alarming! 5 more Covid +ve patients dies at Silchar Medical College in last 24 hours

May 15: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 05 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 05 deceased at SMCH, 04 of them are from Cachar district, while 01 of them is from Karimganj district. The 05 deceased were identified as:

• Rathi Dhar Nandi (55) from Mona Village in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH in the evening on 14 May. The person, however, died in the same evening, (14 May) at 5.33 PM
• Dipak Shill (34) from Durganagar Part V in Cachar district took admission at SMCH on 8 May. He breathed his last at 10.30 PM on 14 May.
• Nilmoni Singh (75) from Kabuganj in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 12 May. He, expired at 5.20 AM on 15 May.
• Ajit Kumar Modak (82) from Rangirkhari in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 9 May. The person, however, breathed his last at 10.25 AM on 15 May.
• Utpal Banerjee (65) from Silchar took admission at SMCH on 10 May. He died at 5.30 PM on 15 May.
