Ahead of Assembly polls, 70 Congress workers join BJP in Borjalenga
Sept. 22: In yet another major setback of Dholai Congress, ahead of the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, more than 70 workers from Congress party joined the BJP in the presence of Assam Fisheries, Excise, Forest and Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Sunday in Borjalenga.
In a boost to the BJP ahead of the Assam Assembly elections to be held in next year, many active Congress workers from Dholai Constituency’s Borjalenga Block Area joined the saffron party during the organisational meeting organized by Borjalenga Mandal BJP Committee in the presence of Assam Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Cachar District Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Amiya Kanti Das,Secretary and ZP Member of West Dholai Lakshmi Rani Yadav and others senior party workers in Chotojalenga Multipurpose Hall.
In his speech, Minister Parimal Suklabaidya welcomed the Congress workers into the Saffron party and said they were influenced by the party’s ideology of ‘Sab ka saath, sab ka Vikas’. “All these people have joined the BJP to give a stable government in the interest of society and the state. They believe in BJPs ideology, which is a happy message to the state, as the people of the country and the state have rejected dynastic politics,” Suklabaidya said.
At the end of the programme, Minister Parimal Suklabaidya handed over Orunodoi Forms among the Panchayat President and Anchalik Panchayat Member of Borjalenga Block and requested all the members to give the forms to the actual beneficiaries of Orunodoi scheme.
