Ahead of assembly election, BJP begins its manifesto committee meeting in Guwahati
Feb. 13: The big political battle of Assam Assembly polls is knocking at the doors. In all probability, the Election Commission will notify the poll dates withing a few days. The assembly elections are supposed to be held by March-April 2021. All the political parties have already started campaigning. With its dream of Mission 100+, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also busy reaching to the voters. The Congress, AIUDF and other political parties too are up and doing to restrict the BJP from forming the government for the second time in the state.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the BJP office in Guwahati witnessed much activity as the core committee was busy drafting the party manifesto for the forthcoming polls. Taking to his twitter handle, BJP State General Secretary and Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy wrote, “Rushed from Delhi to attend crucial Manifesto Committee meeting of @BJP4Assam. Modalities for framing manifesto discussed at length. We look forward to & welcome inputs from all of you.”

In 2021, both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have visited Assam multiple times. Within a fortnight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam again on 22 February, 2021. On 23 January, PM Modi attended a huge programme organized at historic Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district where he distributed land allotment certificates to 1.06 lakh indigenous people of the state. After that, PM Modi came to Assam again on February 7 where he attended another public meeting.
