After Manipur, earthquake strikes Meghalaya on Sunday

June 28: On Sunday morning at 11.24 a quake occurred in Ukhrul of Manipur. The tremours were felt almost in the entire state and some parts of Assam. The quake measuring 4.0 in the Richter scale took place at a depth of 60 kms. Following this, another earthquake of magnitude 3.9 on the Richter scale struck near Tura in Meghalaya at 12:24 pm on Sunday. It needs mention here that on last Friday too, earthquake of 3.3 magnitude hit 79 km west of Tura. However, there were no initial reports of life and property.
