HSLC: Results viral in social media! From next year media won’t be given results before time: Edu Minister

June 7: June 7: The results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) conducted by Board of Secondary Education (SEBA), Assam was declared at 10 AM on June 7, 2022. However, what came as a surprise for many is that the list of names containing that of the position holders became viral in social media two hours ahead of the time of official declaration of the results by SEBA. By around 9 AM, even the soft copy of the Result Booklet was doing the rounds in various social media platforms.

Taking a strict note of this matter, state Education Minister, Dr Ranoj Pegu accepted the fact that the result sheet became viral as it was leaked before time by a section of the media in Assam. Violating the established norms, certain media house published news reports much ahead of the official time of the declaration of the results and also leaked the same in social media platforms. Asserting this, Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu said that from next year onwards, media houses will not be given the copy of the Results Sheet before its official declaration.
